CPT Stephan D. Hobbs enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 1995.  His assignments while serving as a Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer included Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3 rd  Battalion, 15 th Infantry Regiment, Fort Stewart, Georgia, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3d U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard), Fort Myer, Virginia, and Charlie Company, 3 rd Battalion, 13 th Infantry Regiment, Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

CPT Hobbs attended the United States Army Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in 2008 as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry.  Following the Infantry Basic Officer Course, CPT Hobbs was assigned to the 1 st Battalion, 327 th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he served as a Platoon Leader, Assistant Operations Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer (Air).  CPT Hobbs’ most recent assignment was with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry, Fort Benning, GA where he served as a company commander for Infantry One Station Unit Training.

CPT Hobbs’ military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, United States Army Drill Sergeant School, Basic Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder Course, Basic Officer Leader Course, Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Maneuver Captains Career Course, Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course, Military History Instructors Course, and the Cadre Faculty Development Course.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Pre-Professional Health and a Master of Science in Management from Austin Peay State University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration.

CPT Hobbs’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 silver leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal (2 silver leaf clusters), Good Conduct Medal (2 nd Award), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3 rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon (2 nd Award), NATO Medal (2 nd Award), Air Assault Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and the Drill Sergeant Badge. 

CPT Hobbs is married to April and they have two daughters, Britne and Allison.
